Seattle

Greetings from Seattle, We had a great last night on the ship. We woke up early to depart for Seattle. We had a little delay getting off the ship and thought we would miss our bus. It felt like we were on the amazing race running for the bus. Made it in time. No problems getting through customs. We arrived in Seattle around 1:00 and picked up our rental car( just like Auntie Shells). Checked into the Marriot. Got a huge room (suite) unexpected. Once we settled in we drove to the Space Needle and Experience Music Project. First, we picked up our City pass that I ordered on line. It allows us to get into many different places. We went to the music experience first. It's like 3 museums in one. A very cool place. Sent most of the day there. It has a Science fiction museum inside it. Uncle Billy would love this. It had star wars and every other sci-fi stuff, even ET! We also went to a special tribute for Jim Henson. It was very cool. Had his life, from his commericals to how he started with the muppets. Mike and the girls put on a skit with the puppets (see pictures). Lots of laughs. Than we went to an interactive music museum. Livy loved all the guitars. They had music from all eras. The girls got to play instruments, sing and have fun. Alex had her picture taken next to Michael Jackson's outfit. Finally we ended our exploring at the Space Needle. It took only 41 seconds to go 520 feet. The pictures of seattle our from the top. Beautiful views. We were very lucky because MT Ranier was out today. This is unusual because the weather usually isn't this nice. In the morning we will be going to the science center, aquarium, and a habor tour. Our flight leaves at 9:55 pm. Although we hate to end this fabulous adventure, we are looking forward to seeing everyone back home. We will pack some sun in our suitcases (although they are very full). Love you all!

Loved the Experience Music Project. Frank O. Gehry designed the building. He also designed the Stata Center for MIT in cambridge. Here is a link to some pics, interesting to see another of his unique buildings.
